CEO Update – October 2022

02 Nov 2022

Proudly managed by ASM Global, ICC Sydney’s mission is to deliver success for our clients and stakeholders, while making a difference within our community as we operate an extraordinary venue with extraordinary people who win, run and support extraordinary events. To do this we are focused on offering ever better world class services in an exceptional destination, as we continue to welcome high numbers of business events to our revitalised, diverse, dynamic city and unparalleled location.

When holding events at ICC Sydney, clients can expect a world class experience, with access to in house services supported by our experienced and passionate team that place your delegates first. We are humbled that clients and event attendees both returned 99% satisfaction rates on their extraordinary experiences at our venue.

To achieve extraordinary results, ICC Sydney offers access to award winning audio visual services and event planning innovations including our new Interactive Venue Map that brings venue spaces to life making event planning clearer and more accessible with 3D floorplans of every room, on every level of our three city block premium convention, exhibition and entertainment venue.

Equally importantly, we have increased avenues to reduce the environmental footprint and raise the social impacts of events. In alignment with the ASM Global Acts worldwide sustainability and equity program, we have elevated our best practice CSR program, piloting new avenues for event organisers to leave a positive legacy through events. To this end, our new carbon footprint reporting and detailed real-time waste event reporting system is being piloted at ICC Sydney this month.

Through our partnership with innovative waste management experts BinTracker, we help clients monitor waste and provide real-time waste data to the venue’s team members as well as clients to help decrease contamination rates, to help meet landfill diversion targets, and to provide clients with detailed and accurate data regarding their event’s waste footprint. Read our latest case study on the Australian Waste and Recycling Expo that demonstrates the waste reduction initiative in action: 221014-iccs-awre-2022-casestudy.pdf (iccsydney.com.au).

As an extension of our corporate social responsibility initiatives and our commitment to building a diverse and inclusive culture, Director of Business Development, Beverley Parker discusses the importance of kindness in the workplace, its impact on building strong relationships as well as being the driving force as we give back to our community through our event Legacy Program. Our ICC Sydney team is delighted to continue to welcome increasing numbers of international event attendees to our venue. Recently the Congress of the International Academy of Pathology 2022 attracted 1,300 delegates with half of these in person with 70% from international locations. The International Desalination Association World Congress 2022 welcomed delegates with 75% arriving from global locations. ICC Sydney also delivered the successful Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Global Conference for the second time, welcoming 4,500 international delegates from 33 countries and territories.
