Sneak peek at new uniforms revealed ahead of December Opening

Hot on the heels of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) has today unveiled a preview of its sleek new uniforms – another key milestone ahead of the venue’s launch this December.

Designed to support ICC Sydney’s reputation as Australia’s premier convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct, the modern look features clean lines, quality finishes and the venue’s signature colour-blocked triangular motif.

CEO of ICC Sydney, Geoff Donaghy, said that the uniform’s design was undertaken in line with the venue’s philosophy of working with superior local suppliers to deliver world class results.

“In true Sydney spirit, the front of house uniforms are stylish, fresh and sophisticated. They have been designed by Sydney-based and internationally recognised uniform designer, Dallen, the new uniforms reflect a perfect mix of form, function and fashion to support our expert teams.

“From serving gala dinners in the Grand Ballroom to running major international conventions that seek to solve the world’s challenges, our specialist teams will surpass expectations from the minute visitors walk through the door.”

Around 14,000 garments are set to be delivered to dress the 300 full time staff and 1,500 part time staff at ICC Sydney.

Donaghy said that along with uniform development, the team is currently gearing up to support a raft of intensive activity designed to prepare ICC Sydney for its debut.

“The size and scale of activity at ICC Sydney is truly spectacular with our team currently finalising operational activity and event plans as we move into a concentrated period of testing and commission the venue and our staff in situ from 20 September to 19 December 2016. In addition to the processes and protocols being finalised, our ordering schedule is immense. For example, we are on track to receive 166,000 pieces of chinaware and 132,000 pieces of glassware in preparation for the 20 plus events that will help us test every centimetre of the venue. It’s a truly exciting time as the countdown to launch advances.”

Opening in December, ICC Sydney will mark a paradigm shift in the way entertainment and business events are delivered in Sydney.
