Supporting our suppliers through COVID-19

15 May 2020

Here at ICC Sydney, we’ve been proud to work with over 134 food, beverage and wine suppliers to showcase the best of NSW and Australian produce to our guests. These producers are our partners and we could not put on world class events without their contribution.

With COVID-19 resulting in the shutdown of events at ICC Sydney and our industry for the foreseeable future, it is with great sadness that we have been unable to continue buying from our suppliers. It is devastating to think of the effects this pandemic is having on these suppliers who are so dear to our business.

Our suppliers are amazingly resilient, finding ways to adapt in order to keep their farms and businesses going during this time. Many have started to sell to the public and incorporate home delivery for the first time, providing an exciting opportunity to taste, cook or serve produce from some of the finest NSW and Australia has to offer. Here’s what some of them are up to and how you can help support their businesses.

Block 11 Organics

You may have seen Block 11 Organics at Sydney’s Carriageworks Famer’s Market, or been lucky enough to taste some of their delicious, certified organic fruit and vegetables in a meal at ICC Sydney.

In the wake of COVID-19, these third generation farmers have moved their business online, delivering fresh, organic produce boxes straight to your door from their farms in Central West NSW and The Hawkesbury. You can order a changing weekly Block11 Produce Box filled with the highest quality produce, or create your own from individual items in the online store.

Complement your fresh produce with ‘extra goodies’ available for purchase, such as Willowbrae goat’s curd and cheeses or Berkelo handmade sourdough pasta.

Two Providores

Family owned and run Two Providores is passionate about sustainable local produce and has been supplying wholesale artisan goods to like-minded chefs, cafes and restaurants for over 45 years, including ICC Sydney. Dedicated to supporting Australian producers committed to sustainable farming, you can be sure every product is of the utmost quality.

To combat reduced business during COVID-19, Two Providores is now open to the public every Saturday from 9am-4pm at their Marrickville location, in addition to accepting daily online orders. This is an amazing opportunity to access their essential range of dry-store brands and artisanal products ranging from dairy, seafood and meat, to frozen goods and cleaning supplies at competitive prices.

Vic’s Meats

Combining a traditional approach to butchery with cutting edge technology, father and son owned Vic’s Meats is ICC Sydney’s go to supplier for the best quality meats. Coming from a long line of butchers, they can be relied upon to make sure only the finest produce from regional farmers makes it from the paddock to your plate.

Vic’s Market Day is open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7am-1pm at their Mascot base, where you’ll find an extensive range of premium meats for wholesale prices. Alternatively you can visit their online store and arrange delivery straight to your home.

Martin’s Seafood

Martin’s Seafood has been standing the test of time since 1978, selling premium quality seafood at an affordable price for all these years. Their philosophy is community-minded, fun and dedicated to serving delicious seafood.

They are passionate about serving the public, and will continue to sell fresh and frozen seafood on Saturdays from 9:30am-12:30pm at their Botany location. Home delivery is also available from the Martin’s Seafood website.

Here at ICC Sydney, we are very proud of our hard-working regional farmers and suppliers, and greatly admire their efforts to adapt under the pressures of COVID-19. Please join us in helping them endure through these uncertain times.
